Library Resources
Knowledge Ontario (KO) provides all students in Ontario with access to online resources from two vendors: Gale Cengage and EBSCO. In many cases, the resources and materials include full-text of newspapers, magazines, journals, essays, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, and eBook collections. Please see Ms. Ranger in the library for passwords for home use. No passwords are required when using the databases at school.



Academic OneFile is the premier soured for peer-reviewed, full-text articles from the world’s leading journals and reference sources.



CPI.Q (Canadian Periodical Index) contains a wealth of Canadian and international periodicals—the Globe and Mail, Maclean’s, Canadian News Facts, and encyclopaedic reference materials, such as the Canadian Parliamentary Guide and Canadian Newsmakers.



Discovering Collection comprises thousands of overview essays, critical analysis, biographies, timelines and multimedia elements which help with research and assignments in for core subject areas: history, literature, biography, science, and social studies. Includes Discovering Biography, Exploring Shakespeare, Newsmakers, Worldmark Encyclopaedia Nations, etc.



The Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopaedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. Includes Gale Encyclopaedia of Alternative Medicine, Gale Encyclopaedia of Medicine, and eBook collections.



EBSCO’s Canadian Reference Centre provides full-text access to Canadian magazines, newspapers, newswires, and reference books, including The Toronto Star, Canadian Press, La Presse Canadienne (en français), Canadian Global Almanac, Gage Canadian Dictionary and Gage Canadian Thesaurus.
